Since I haven't being doing this (digital) photography thing very long, I've been using the kit lens that came with my 40D. It's a 28-135 IS. A nice lens but I often find the need for something with a wider angle. Also, I am the official band photographer for Cry'n Out Loud, a local band here in NH. I find myself in dark bars and clubs trying to capture the room and the crowd, and the current lens just isn't doing it. So I've ordered a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X 116 Pro DX. It will be here tomorrow!

I look forward to having this fast lens and much wider angle. Should work perfectly for the band's photos. Also, it gives me some creative uses in the field. I'll be posting some pictures I took with it as soon as I get some!

I purchased this over the Canon 10-22 based on the many, many reviews I read about this lens being superb. Hope they're right!
